About

aboutme.jpg

My name is Christina Warren (hence the domain name), I’m 25 years old and I live in Atlanta, Georgia. It would be an understatement to say that I’m sort of obsessed with film and television and their respective industries. I am also a major gadget-junkie and computer geek. Don’t let the obsession for pretty clothes fool you, I am a hardcore geek — disassembled computers and make-up bags reside in the same space. It’s just how I roll. However, just because I’m geeky doesn’t mean I feel like looking geeky. Geek Chic is what I’m all about.

I’m a Mac user — but not one of those “I will only badmouth the PC and extol the virtues of the Mac” Mac users — I was a true switcher (though I have been using both platforms since 1995 and actually learned about system networking on a Mac), and frankly there are aspects of both platforms that I like and dislike. I mean, I used Windows daily for half my life (12 years before the switch), I still use Windows and Linux distros when I want to try something out (or for Windows, remove the DRM off my iTunes purchases and rip CD’s with EAC, which sadly is NOT on the Mac…GRR) or when reviewing a new product.

I’m taking forever and a day to finish my college education. In the meantime, I have been very fortunate to get some great freelance writing assignments over the last year. In 2007, I was on the “Coaches” panel for USA Today’s American Idol coverage and wrote about the show weekly online and for the print edition of the paper. I am also a blogger for TUAW.com, DownloadSquad.com and as of March 2008, Styledash.com. I also co-host a videocast - the Squadcast, for Download Squad.
